Aberdeen
Aberdeen is one of those cities that seems to have been dealt a rather unfair hand by the tourist industry.
It is rarely the first place people mention when planning a Scottish city break, being somewhat overshadowed by Edinburgh and Glasgow, yet Aberdeen has plenty going for it.

Dundee
For many years, Dundee suffered from a rather unfortunate image. It was the city of jute, jam and journalism, famous for its industrial past, marmalade and the Dundee Courier, but not necessarily somewhere that appeared at the top of anyone's Scottish holiday wish list.

Glasgow
I have to confess I've had a "Road to Damascus" moment with Glasgow. Earlier visits to Glasgow had been brief and centred on the City Centre near Central Station and like most cities, the area around the main station isn't always the most salubrious and that affected my judgement.

West Coast
If you want to see Scotland at its most dramatic, head west.
The west coast is where Scotland really seems to have let itself go. Mountains tumble towards the sea, enormous sea lochs cut deep into the land, islands sit scattered across the Atlantic and tiny fishing villages cling to rocky shores.
